Hi everyone!
I downloaded a new style "Firefly.stylx" and I want to use it in my ArcMap. But it seems that I can't add the files with *.stylx formats in my ArcGIS and my ArcGIS only shows *.style .
Should I change my ArcGIS software to new version to be able to use this styles? Is there a way to convert these formats? I also tried to save this style in my "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.X\ArcMap" folder. But it doesn't show it there either.
I was wondering how can I solve this issue.
Thanks,
Amir
This might be the case where stylx files are specifically for Pro and are not backward compatible with ArcMap. This is the same convention ESRI uses with lyr files for ArcMap and lyrx files for Pro.
Thanks Michael!
Michael Volz is correct that stylx files are not backward compatible and that is documented here https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/projects/styles.htm
Note that your ArcGIS Desktop license (if you're current on maintenance) means you already have ArcGIS Pro. You just need to download, install and license (by default through ArcGIS Online Named User): https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/get-started/install-and-sign-in-to-arcgis-pro.htm
Great! I'll use ArcGIS Pro.
