Hello all,

I am adding photos to a file geodatabase from a folder on my PC. I have about 1,000 jpgs that need to included in this file geodatabase. Currently, I have the images attached to the attributes in the layer but the file geodatabase it too. I have heard if I stored them as BLOB data it will not make the file geodatabase so large. However, I cannot find how to accomplish this. Has anyone ever done this before?

Any help is appreciated.

Best,

Janelle

I believe attachments are automatically stored as blobs in the geodatabase. There is nothing the user has to do.

Yeah, I have had them stored that way when they were attached via Survey123 and Field maps but is there a way to store them as BLOB data when they are from a folder on my C drive?

I just checked some of my attachments that I added from local folders, through Pro, and they were all Blobs. So it looks like the conversion is automatic. Hope that helps.

You can use the attachment toolset to create a match table and add attachments from you C drive to the database.
