Split Lines on Vertices

Currently unable to use the split feature editing tool in ArcPro when splitting a line at a vertex. I'm working in ArcPro version 3.4.3. I'm getting an error without a number or any information on it.  I'm wondering if anyone has seen this or if anyone has any advice. My line layer I initially was attempting to split is in a traditionally versioned SQL Enterprise Geodatabase brought into to my Project via an SDE connection. I also had this issue working in a normal fgdb feature class as well. I've also only seen this on line (geometry) layers for what its worth. Not sure what could be causing the issue and looking for any workarounds!

Can other edits be performed on the feature such as adding a vertex?

You may have a domain on the feature class that does not have a proper split policy assigned? Believe this can be checked in the domain(s) setting of the database. Just an idea if other aspects of the feature can be edited.

Hello @ISGGISAdmin , have you perhaps encountered defect BUG-000172550 "When using the Split tool from the Modify Features pane in ArcGIS Pro 3.4, the error message, “Splitting features failed” is returned when the map and layer projections differ." ?

It reproduces like this:

  • Ensure that the projection of the Map and the layer is different.
  • When we try to split the line using the vertex. We receive an error “Splitting features failed”
