Hi all,
I have access to ArcGIS Network Analyst service with Route Solver capability. This service is published to a stand-alone ArcGIS Server v11.5 with Network Analyst extension and does not have ArcGIS Portal federated.
I am struggling to get ArcGIS Pro to make this as a default service for network analysis. The documentation says to use Analysis (tab) -> Network Analysis (tool) -> Data Source (button) -> Browse (button) to set the source. However, Browse option does not recognize ArcGIS Server connection file to be able to set the service as a source. It only shows GDBs as valid option. How do I go about making network analyst service from a standalone server as a default solver service for route solving in ArcGIS Pro?
Thanks,
Vish
Hi Vish,
ArcGIS Pro will not recognize a routing service published to a non‑federated, stand‑alone ArcGIS Server through the UI. This is by design.
ArcGIS Pro does support stand‑alone routing services via Python, using an explicit service definition dictionary. See also: Network Analyst solver access
Thanks for your reply @sjones_esriau
Wonder the reasoning behind leaving out network analyst service by-design. I can use geocoding service from an unfederated server in locate options.
