Hi all,

Has anyone tried this? It doesn't work for us. We're using ArcGIS Pro 3.3.5. We select some point features and then right click and Make Layer from Selected Features. Then on that selection layer we try to use Select by Location - Intersect - polygon layer to get the points within a polygon.

All of the points end up selected again instead of just the points within the polygon.

Bug? By design?

Thank you!

Andrea

Nope, I turned off the original layer. I'm glad to hear it works at a higher version. It might just be a bug at 3.3.5. Thanks.

The easiest way to check is exporting your layer from selection to a Feature Class, then running your Select by Location again. I would think it should be honoring the queried layer to perform your selection, but truthfully, I've not seen this exact thing happen when using layers from selections.

I am using 3.5.2 without any problems. Are you possibly still drawing the selected points from the point layer used to create the Selection Layer.
