In the "Apparent Reflectance" function, are the radiance gain and radiance bias values calculated or can they be found in the Landsat 8 metadata. If in the metadata under what labels are they? Thanks for your assistance.

Mike, you didn't indicate whether you had read the topic on ...apparent reflectance ... which lists what you can use as imputs and what is available from the metadata

Hi Dan,

Thank you for pointing to the help resource. For the most part it is

very helpful. It does state the image metadata file is read for input

values by the apparent reflectance function yet yet my ArcPro 1.3 version

does not. There is plenty of postings for Landsat 7 and ArcGIS 10.2, but

those are different animals. If you have any thoughts or experience why the

metadata file is not getting read I would appreciate them.

Take Care,

mike

Mike, specifically for landsat 8, this information had to be available in order for the function to be used.  You would have to check to see if this is the case in the metadata

Reflectance gain and reflectance bias (for Landsat 😎

Hi Xander,

Thank you for pointing me to the information in the "Apparent

Reflectance function" document. What the information therein does say "All

the information required for the correction is extracted from the key

metadata properties for each image when the function is initialized.". So

am I to assume the reflectance function does not actually read the MLT.txt

file provided with Landsat 8 data? Reflectance gain and reflectance bias are

not labeled as such in the *_MLT.txt so are these values calculated prior

to entering in the function?

Thanks again for your help,

mike
