I have just opened Pro 3.0 to check out the python environment and I already see a change.  It appears that in the Project page,  Python has been renamed to Package Manager.  Does this change in name mean that other environments besides Python will be managed here moving forward?

Package Manager—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

you can upgrade previous environments too

I haven't found any issues activating environments through the package manager or conda.  Improvements have been made.  There is a whole section on the package manager (the first link is one example)

@MichaelVol Under the hood the Package Manager uses conda, we consciously changed the name to better reflect conda's capabilities. In the context of ArcGIS Pro, the Package Manager can also be useful for R users.

While it doesn't provide much more detail on this particular point, you might find this blog interesting: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-pro/announcements/the-all-new-package-environment-m...
