Problems loading large IFCs in the arcgis Pro

I am having problems when trying to load large IFC files (railway infrastructure) via the directory > add to map.
Arcgis Pro shuts down on its own!

I have tried to load the disciplines separately and the error persists. Is there a limit to the size of the files or number of elements contained in the BIM model?

Hi @engrafael23, since your question is a challenge in ArcGIS Pro, I am going to move your comment into that product community channel where their team can follow up with you and make sure they understand the problem. This community is tied to ArcGIS GeoBIM which would be a different team than the one you are looking for answers.

@engrafael23 did you submit a technical support ticket on this? If not, please do that since our teams are going to need more information for us to be able to look into the error and will need that to test and help find an answer for you quickly.

Hello,

There is no limit to the size of the IFC you can read on Pro. The limit is tie to the amount of memory (RAM) your computer has.

To try to narrow you issue i have a few questions.

  1. which version of Pro are you using?
  2. Which version of IFC are you trying to read?

Best regards, David

Hello,

Form the hardware side you are okay. Also you are using ifc2x3 and the elements are not as well categorize as ifc 4x3. In that case most of the elements will be lump into IfcBuildingElementProxy so there could be an issue on those geometries

It is possible for you to share the file with me ?

Best regards,

David
