Pro bug? - can't query new attributes in a feature class

If I add a new attribute field to a feature class - I'll call it "newfield", ArcPro will not let me query from that feature class for multiple queries using any of the new fields. I CAN query newfield = 1, but if I try: newfield = 1 and pre_existing field = 10) It will not allow two queries... So frustrating. Any ideas on fixing? could this be some odd setting I need to turn off?  Using 3.4.0.

Question:  do you have any subtypes or attribute domains on your feature class?

None, this is point data 101.  I noticed the issue about three weeks ago but couldn't figure out why my queries would not work until yesterday when I added some new attribute fields.

are edits saved prior to querying?

Yes- no editing just basic querying... doesn't work after rebooting, cursing, cussing and... fist shaking. Since this started recently I suspect it's tied to a Windows upgrade.

a bit of a pain, a soft reset might be helpful
