Hello I have deleted 9 of 17 zoning categories from an attribute table and saved the edits. The deleted zoning types no longer appear in the attribute table and appear white, instead of their originally assigned colors in the visualization pane. This suggests the polygons have in fact been deleted from the original shapefile. However, the deleted zoning categories still appear in the ToC and in the Layout Legend with their originally assigned colors. The image attached shows the 8 correct zoning categories I want to keep in the attribute table, with all 17 categories still in the ToC. I previously performed this exact function with the same data in ArcMap with no problem. I am now converting the same lab exercise in ArcPro 2.4 and can not seem to resolve this issue. Can anyone help a beginner out? Thank you!
The ultimate resolution was to turn off all layers, close the layer tab, and start fresh. It should be noted however that a simple refresh did not suffice. In fact, the original shapefile was edited last night and I did not notice the issue until today when I opened the project again after a fresh login, so the error was carried overnight. Fixed and moving on!
