Below is a snippet of a legend I'm trying to make presentable. There are several problems that would have been easy to fix in ArcMap, but I can't figure out what to do in ArcGIS Pro.
1) How can I keep the label as "Streams (mine)" in the Contents view, while making it display as just "Streams" on the legend?
2) Similarly, how can I make the legend display "Stream Order" instead of "StrmOrder"? Never mind, I figured this one out.
3) Under "Rare species," "CommonName" is the only category I'm using, so I don't understand why only Great Blue Lobelia is appearing under that heading (well, I think it has to do with having added that species after importing the project from an MXD file in which I had deleted that label from the Table of Contents), but in any case I want to get rid of that heading entirely. How do I do that? Okay, figured this one out too.
4) How do I add other features from the Contents to the legend? I'm starting with a layout imported from an MXD file, so I didn't start this one from scratch.

1: it goes off of what you named your layer. You could always create a duplicate of that layer just to use in the legend.
2: open the symbology pane for that layer. Change the name above the symbols.
4: In layout view you can drag and drop layers into the legend list and that will add that feature to the legend. Otherwise you can always delete the legend and recreate it. It should be recreated with all the layers. This may also solve your problem in #3.
