Modify/Divide/Clip Doesn't Work

Hi Community; I am trying to clip a hole in a polygon. The polygon is set to have a fill color, but needs to have some holes cut into it based upon other smaller polygons. The online help instructions for this command sound great and straightforward. But nothing happens. Select the polygon to cut the hole with, then "select only" the large polygon that needs the hole, set discard and hit clip. Nothing happens. The two polygons are on the same layer as per instructions. Any thoughts?

None of the desired labels work either - not available.

Scott; Boy, that about nails it. I am using 2.9.x and have been waiting until this major project was done before going ahead and installing Pro 3.x. I looked at it a few weeks ago and within Pro was responding to the message in the upper right corner that an upgrade was available. However, that ran into the Microsoft.NET issue and I couldn't install/upgrade. I decided to wait until finishing this major project (which I think is done) because I have never had an easy time of anything when dealing with Microsoft upgrades. I am using MS OS 10.x and receive monthly updates (plus a big urgent message that OS 11.0 is ready to install) but every time these monthly updates start interfering before and after installing and my computer is near useless with spinning doughnuts for two days. Aggravating. So, I cringe at a .NET issue while in the middle of a project.

On that link I sent it says a patch for 2.9 is coming very soon (today?), which hopefully resolves the crashing. If not, please consider contacting Esri Technical Support.
