I need to create PDFs of a building that uses Indoors floor-aware data. I have a layout for each floor, but I'm trying to avoid creating several dozen maps f(one for each floor) by using the same map and changing the floor in the layout's map frame.
Here's my problem - for one of the layers, I'm using the "Only show features visible in the map extent" option in the legend. This works great to filter out options that don't exist in the floor. However, it seems to be tied to the map itself and not the map frame. Eg, when I change floors in the map frame, the legend list does not update. Is there any way to tie the legend item to the floor shown in the map frame instead of the floor in the map itself?
Are you using a Map Series so that the layout will create a page for each floor? With a map series you can define a series of pages that span a range of map extents. So, your map frame will look unique on each page.
Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to solve the legend problem. The legend items for Floor 1 are populated across floors instead of changing with the objects visible in the map frame.
It sound like this might be a bug in the software. I recommend reaching out to Technical Support as they can troubleshoot and report it properly.
