Labelling points issue?

Hi! This probably has an extremely simple solution and I’m missing something obvious. I am creating points on my map basically using this method: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/2.8/get-started/create-points-on-a-map.htm

My first layer is fine.I need my points to be labelled on the map so I’m using the label feature (right clicking on the layer and clicking label). The first feature class layer has the points labelled by the NAME field no problem. 

When I make a second layer with a new points feature class and do everything the same way, and select “label,” everything is labelled with the OBJECTID number instead of the NAME field.

What am I missing?

Right-click the layer > Click Labelling Properties.

Replace the field in the expression with the appropriate field > Apply.
