Join to SQL Server

Running Pro 2.1.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 12.0.5203.0. 

Wishing to join on a field between SQL and Parcels' layer.   The particular table that I am joining to in SQL Server is a View of another table, but in ArcGIS it shows up as a table. 

Anyway Join eventually fails, though this behavior works properly in ArcGIS Desktop.

it's 64-bit.  The above is from SQL Server Management Studio.  Properties of the Server.

This is typical of the error message that I get trying to open the Atttribute Table for my joined parcels data in Pro.  and additionally if I import a map document from an .mxd the join seems to import too.  However too many changes or manipulations to the attribute table in pro gives the above message.  Prior to this message I had re-arranged a few fields that I am interested in within the attribute table fields view.
