Hi,

Is it possible with ArcGIS Pro to add a custom Icon in the task bar that will open a text box input?

On my Desktop there is a folder named "Test" with 100 notepads in it. Each notepad name is a number (1 to 100 ).

In each notepad there is a word.

I would like to test something. Is it possible to make a custom Icon in the task bar of ArcGIS Pro that will pop up a input box and i could type a number from 1 to 100 and the word in the notepad named that number from the folder "Test" would be show on screen.

Thx alot for your help

Hi, were you able to find a solution for this?

Hi,

since you can add any tool you want to your tool gallery, this is possible and just a question where the code comes from. Here a VERY SIMPLE Toolbox that uses a python script (and an xml-configuration file) ... Extract the ZIP to any place you like - then all you have to do in Pro is:

  • Navigate to the tool in Catalog
  • Right-click it
  • And either add it to your Tool gallery or Favorites

Give it a try ... YES I know - it is a full-blown GP solution for it. To just have a text-input-box in the GUI you'd have to use the ArcGIS Pro API.
