I am uploading multiple layers on ArcGIS Online through ArcGIS Pro. I was wondering if there was a way to batch clip the layer extent so that they appear to be clipped once uploaded on ArcGIS Online.
I would prefer keeping my geodatabase as the full extent that's why I wouldn't want to batch clip the layers on my geodatabase.
Thank you in advance!
Hi Ysabel,
You can right-click on the tool in the Geoprocessing pane and select the Batch option.
Is this what you were looking for, or were you thinking of something else?
Hi Rachel,
Thank you for this. However, this is not the solution I was looking for.
I am looking for a function that could clip the layers when being published to ArcGIS Online without changing the extent from the geodatabase. This function would be similar to
Map Properties > Clip Layers > Clip to the outline of features.
My objective is to upload my layers online and displayed to the outline of a certain feature without actually changing their extent in my geodatabase and bypassing the 'Batch Clip' tool option.
Hi Ysabel,
Perhaps the Extract Data tool is what you are looking for?
Extract Data—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS
This does require an extra step -- you have to upload the exported file geodatabase as a .zip file to ArcGIS Online.
Hope this helps!
Thank you, Rachel! I will give this a try.
