In Layout View I am having an issue deselecting elements using ArcGis Pro 2.4.0

Hi 

When I am designing maps in layout view I cannot deselect an element after selecting it. When I select one element it selects two elements and groups them and then I don't have control of the element I need to edit or move.

Hi Justin, 

I'm not aware of any selection issues concerning layout elements  (ex: text, legend, scale bar, map frames, etc...). Without more information, such as what elements you are working with (do they overlap?), the steps taken before encountering the bug (are you using the ribbon command to deselect elements?), or the state of the layout (ex: is a map frame active?, are the elements locked?).

The problem you are running into may be specific to your data/workflow. Can you contact Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support.

Hi Tom,
Thank you for responding, the solution is the selection was set to add multiple elements, so it was changed to select a single element and that solved my problem.
