I needed to connect two points - one being an auto theft location and the other the recovery location. I had both feature in a feature class linked by a case number. Point to line did not work in Pro but it does in ArcMap.

Pro gave an error of "2 points are required" I'm pretty sure it did not work because there was not a recovery point for every theft point.  ArcMap must skip creating a line in this case while Pro fails.  Is there a better way to create a line connecting two points?

Are you using the Sort_Field parameter when completing the GP tool parameters?

This seems to me like an ArcPro equivalency issue where it does not handle your scenario as well in Pro compared to ArcMap.  I would create an incident with ESRI tech support to see if they can replicate this issue and consider it a bug as it seems like the functionality is better in ArcMap since you get some results as opposed to the tool failing to run.

Yes, I had that set and when I tried it again today it worked.

Problem solved.

I assume the point to line tool is the best way to do this?

Yes, it will create the lines between the points based on unique ID's from the LINE_FIELD
