I'm doing some modelling with ArcGIS Pro on my thesis subject: Locating low-cost large-scale hydrogen systems in North-Africa and Europe. So far I've done the following (See attachment). I'm stuck on the following;
- Not knowing how to correctly form the buffers around the cities and airports according to their geographical size, now it's only a buffer of 30 km around airports/cities, without regarding their actual size.
- Trying to make a heatmap that resembles the better and worser locations for this system. My heatmap at the moment is a mixture of rectangles of different colours and not a smooth map.
- When, other than using the heatmap, I use the "Locate Regions" toolbox I only get the same large rectangles indicating suitable locations, but I'm trying to get polygons on the exact locations.
Does anybody have experience with this matter or has done something similar?
My data is from ArcGIS Pro online maps:
- Solar data kWp/kWh
- Wind data m/s at 100m height
- All cities in the world
- All the airports in the world
- Population density 2016
Could it be because of the data? I reassembled all the data to a polygon and then raster going from 1-6.
Thank you in advance
