Hey Guys
As you know, ArcGIS Pro is a powerful geographic information system (GIS) software package developed by Esri. It provides powerful tools for data analysis, map making, and location intelligence. ArcGIS Pro enables users to create professional-quality maps and perform sophisticated analysis on their data. With its intuitive user interface, it allows users to quickly get up-to-speed and start working with their data. ArcGIS Pro has powerful tools that allow users to explore, visualize, and share their geographic data in a variety of ways. These tools can be used to create maps and perform spatial analyses on large datasets. Additionally, ArcGIS Pro offers advanced functions such as 3D analysis, image processing, and predictive analytics. Its capabilities make it a great choice for businesses, government agencies, and academic researchers who need to get the most out of their geographic data. With ArcGIS Pro, organizations have the power to uncover deeper insights into their data and make smarter decisions based on location intelligence. The software is also easily integrated with other applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This allows users to collaborate more effectively on projects and share information seamlessly. ArcGIS Pro is the perfect tool for anyone looking to gain deeper insights into their data and create sophisticated maps that communicate complex geographic concepts with clarity. However, as a beginner I want to ask a few questions about ArcGis Pro.
How does ArcGIS Pro differ from ArcMap?
What kind of data can I load with ArcGIS Pro?
Is there a cost associated with using this software?
What type of licenses are available for ArcGIS Pro?
Wher can I find coupons and discounts for ArcGIS Pro? Looking forward to learning more about ArcGIS Pro and its features. Thanks!
I'll do the easy one: ArcMap is end-of-life soon. Learning it now is a waste of time.
Also the last one -- you can get a personal license that lasts a year for $100. Restricted to learning. Covers both ArcGIS Pro (and includes ArcMap, should you ignore the first answer.)
You can also sign up for a MOOC for free and get a license to use Pro for whatever that is.. a month?
Go to https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/search/ and select MOOCs under "Formats" to see what ones are offered.
Getting the $100 license includes more access to online resources for learning. A lot is free anyway, but since it all focuses on learning ArcGIS Pro you need the software anyway.
Oh -- that's another reason to ignore ArcMap. They no longer offer training for it! You need to ferret out old out of date resources to learn it.
Here's a link to an FAQ page that might help.

A modern, fast application: ArcGIS Pro is a 64-bit, multi-threaded application. Its powerful processing and upgraded display engine allow for faster analysis and rendering. (ArcMap is 32 bit)
• An intuitive workspace: ArcMap's toolbars are replaced by a customizable ribbon which updates contextually depending on what you’re doing within the application. Rather than having to dig through toolbars and dialog boxes, the tools you need appear when you need them.
• Dockable Views and Panes make up your ArcGIS Pro workspace. This means you can switch back and forth easily between working with symbology or geoprocessing tools and navigating your maps, tables, and layouts.
• Project-based design: The working unit for ArcGIS Pro is the project. A single project can contain multiple maps, 3D scenes, and layouts. Projects can be packaged in a few clicks into a convenient format that’s shareable via the cloud or as a file. Alternatively, you can open ArcGIS Pro without a project to complete your data management tasks.
• Easy sharing: Thanks to portal integration, you can upload projects, maps, or layers to your portal at ArcGIS Online (included with your Desktop subscription)
