I am trying to update the fire maps for the region and in the past the responsible person has been able to use a compass wheel with a transparent background (see below). These are on the position of the fire towers.

So far, I have managed to change the symbol to a compass wheel, but the background isn't transparent. Is there a way to fix this?

@DanielComins I'm not sure if this helps.

  • Right-click on the layer in Content's Pane >> Symbology
  • Click Properties >> Layers Icon
  • Click on 'Shape' that is used in background. In my case, the white circle is selected:

  • Scroll down in 'Appearance' Group >> Color drop-down >> Choose 'No Color'

  • Click Apply
