Georeferencing in Pro using Adjust

I've noticed that using the Adjust transformation often results in small folds in the resulting image. Is this just a an unavoidable cost of the process, or is there a way to reduce these errors?
P.S. I tagged with "geodatabase" because that is the only option that would come up, and it wouldn't allow me to leave it blank.
