Formation of a TINs and surface volume comparison

What triangulation method is used within ARCGIS PRO when creating a TIN surface?
Are there any ideal parameters for creating a TIN, such as point density and distance between points?
I have noted a slight (<0.5%) difference in volume calculations from different software packages, is the any reason why this may occur?
When using the surface compare tool, is there anyway to get a total volume difference, as opposed to summing up the total of each polygon created?
