Hi,

I am exporting a map from the desktop version of ArcGIS Pro. I have a text box with a composite callout box and leader line. the leader line is formatted as an arrow. Everything about the map displays correctly when I am in the program however when I export the map as a PDF, the tips of the arrows disappear. I have never had an error like this, it seems to affect every arrow type available, as I've tried switching from Arrow Line 3 (what I designed the map with) to other arrow line options and the issue persists when I export the map.  The photos included show the map prior to export (arrows present) and the map after export (leader line visible, but no arrows). Any insights would be appreciated.

Does this happen only with this specific aprx or with all other aprx’s?

Only one aprx, and it didn't happen when I first started the project. The arrows suddenly disappeared after probably 20 or so PDF exports in the same project.

If the arrow tips disappear when exporting from ArcGIS Pro to PDF, try changing the arrow style or converting the arrows into shapes (polygons) in the Symbology pane, as this can make them more stable during export. Also, check the export settings by enabling Embed Fonts and increasing the DPI for better clarity. Updating ArcGIS Pro to the latest version and trying a different PDF viewer like Adobe Acrobat may also help. When you save to PDF you can PRINT or EXPORT to PDF. In Export you can setup options to include fonts in the file vs. being dependent on what is on the end users computer. This is useful for uncommon characters and symbols.

That's helpful to know. The option is unfortunately not available under the fonts tab in the Export pane. It's grayed out.

OK so upon further investigation, it is only composite callout boxes that have this issue. Callout boxes that only have leader lines export without issue. But text boxes with backgrounds and leader lines do not export correctly, again, only in this project. I'm a little baffled by this.

At least this lets you know it's restricted to the aprx and not a larger software problem. So that's good.

Have you cleared this cache for this aprx? If you don't have your aprx's setup to clear the cache each time you close them, it's: Project tab/Options/Display/place check in clear cache... and make sure you close the aprx and reopen.
