A bit of overkill, but a copy features, the FVTP's then delete if you don't want the copy
Copy Features (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation
It explicitly states that selections are honored.
as an alternative to copy
Make Feature Layer (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation
since it is temporary
Yes, you can apply the tool for only the selected features. Just select the desired feature, then run the tool. In the tool panel you will find that there is a message in blue about how many features are selected as in the image below 👇
Interesting, I don't see any blue text there and it always takes a whole layer.
David - what release of ArcGIS Pro are you using? I'm using ArcGIS Pro 3.0.0 and do see a feature selection is honored in the GP tool.
I have version 2.8.1.
I think the tool takes the whole layer because you are using the feature Class not the layer from the map contents.
so try to follow these steps:
1- select the desired features.
2- make sure from the table of the layer that you have a set of selections
3- open the tool pane
4- drag the layer from the contents to the input features box in the tool pane.
5- add output name and run.
DavidMrázek Feature Vertices To Points supports selection in a layer unless you specify the full data path as Input Features. If you are using an older (than 3.0) version of Pro, you will not see that blue text on the tool dialog, but the tool still operates on selection in the layer. I just tested in Pro 2.9.1 and the tool worked on selections for all Point Types. Make sure you do have a selection in your layer.
