Does anyone know how to use the draw extent tool in the Clip Raster GP tool? After I set an input raster the button can be clicked, but it does nothing, the cursor doesn't change, nothing. Help files don't seem to mention this button. I'm trying to clip a raster without having to create garbage clipping polygons.
does click and drag over the map to form the rectangle not work?
Nope, I've tried reopening the map file to no avail also. It's like it stays stuck on the already selected tool. For example I had the explore tool selected form the ribbon, I clicked the draw extent button, moved over to the map and attempted to click-drag a rectangle, but it just identified the layers instead. Clicking around and changing tools on the ribbon didn't help though.
I don't have one to test, but your dialog doesn't have an input raster, so I don't know if that is the issue or you just got the dialog to show the selected tool, which I presue is the Polygon tool.
Clip Raster (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation
You can interactively draw a polygon on the raster in the map to be used as the clipping extent. Click the Create new features in the current map to use as input drop-down list and click Polygon. Then move the pointer to the map to digitize a polygon. Double-click to complete the clipping polygon.
Note:
The only option available for clipping a raster layer is Polygon.
So if it doesn't work with a raster selected and an output specified prior to using the Polygon tool. Try saving your work and rebooting and trying again
After messing with this button intermittently throughout the day, I can report that it does work occasionally as Dan indicated. It will go in and out in the same session, same map file, without changing anything at all except waiting for time to pass.
