I am looking for a way to display only the selected features on a map I highlighted in my attribute table. Also, the non-selected features within the AT do not appear on the map. They temporarily disappear within the AT until you remove the script.

When you have the script, is it done in the " Select By Attributes "Expression?

I'm not very good with scripts, but can someone please point me in the right direction on how to do so?

In ArcGIS Pro, if you select some features, over in your "Drawing Order" right click the layer that has the features selected, and look for "Selection" expand that and there should be "Make Layer From Selected Features" This should only display selected features if you turn off the original layer. Since this is functionality built into ArcGIS Pro, you should be able to automate this in some fashion.

It creates a temporary layer and still communicates with the parent*

I would argue the final comment is misleading.  Although the new layer is based on the data source of the original layer, and the new layer inherits symbology from the existing layer, there is no relationship between the two layers after that point.  For example, if the symbology of the original layer is changed, the previously inherited symbology of the new layer does not.  Also, if different records are selected from the original layer, it does not change the records that make up the new layer.

Yes, I think it is the recommended best and easiest solution in my mind so kudos to Nick.  But I'd say the last part is unfortunately factually incorrect.

For posterity:
Selection layers—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

Caution:

The selection layer is only useful as a temporary working dataset, for example, as an input into a geoprocessing model. It lists the FeatureIDs (FIDs) or ObjectIDs (OIDs) of the selected features. These are invalidated when the original data source is updated or changed.
