ArcGIS for Desktop before adding to the map frame a new feature class with a user defined Geographic Coordinate System showed communicat that the following data sources use a GCS that is different from the map frame GCS.
The ArcGIS Pro dont't show a similar message.
Could you explain me why?

Pro accommodates data with different coordinate systens because it "projects on the fly"

Thanks Dan for your answer.

ArcGIS Desktop can project layers on the fly too. Problem is with the possibility quite big errors with when adding layers with different GCS (using different Earth models).

Has something fundamental changed in the idea of "projects on the fly"?...

I'll take a look at the link soon...
