Deleting feature class in extent map only

I am using ArcGIS Pro 4X. I have created a layout with an extent map. I would like to turn off some of the features classes that appear in the extent map but want them to continue visibility in the main layout view. Can anyone assist me with this issue?

Thank you,

Joe F.

You will need to create two different maps. You can simply copy over the layers you want to be visible in your extent map into the newly created map, then reference this map frame in your layout's extent map. This should solve the issue you're dealing with. Unless you do this, whatever changes you make in one layout will automatically happen in the other because they are referencing the same map frame.

Hi @JTForrest

Currently, this cannot be done without creating a separate map as @Eugene_Adkins points out in his reply. We are currently working on new map frame functionality that will support your scenario.  This is listed in the ArcGIS Pro Roadmap. We hope to have this out this year, possibly as early as 3.7.

Hope this helps,

Tom
