Dead end line features in a network

Hello, I am on Pro 3.01 and am helping my PhD student with a network analysis task. The issue is that two of the linear network classes (footpaths and cycle paths) are poorly digitised off aerial and satellite imagery, and "end" at any vegetation stand etc, which obviously is not optimal when creating service areas.

Current workflow is to create service areas (out from centroids of property cadastre) using the road network (cycle and paths have been appended to this and tagged accordingly but can be used standalone). Any idea how I can incorporate the paths across the parks without digitising them - it is a VERY large and sprawled Australian city)?

For example, we could extend the dead end lines to the nearest road junction on the border of each park  OR create the service areas and spatially join any parks intersecting the service area? The latter seems better, BUT then if people can walk anywhere across a park, it will surely influence the distances set up?

Any advice welcomed.

It would be helpful if you post some screenshot to show the situations.  From what I read, perhaps Extend Line and Snap tools could be use.

Thanks, that sounds like it will do the trick (extend line) It's not my project but here is a quick screenshot of a quick and dirty map I created (he hasn't gotten to the analysis stage yet)

I half thought about using deep learning to find paths on the imagery, but there are too many trees and as I mentioned, it is a VERY large area (Gold Coast, Australia)

Thanks for the screenshot.  There is also Trim Line tool, in case you need to get rid of any overshoots.  🙂
