Messages errors from ServiceArea analysis from Network Analysis:
"The network dataset has no edge elements. It may be unbuilt.
The operation was attempted on an empty geometry"
I tried to
1) build a network dataset but I didn't know how to do it starting from openstreet basemap so I used a roads shapefiles, containing only fields shape=polygon and length=meters and type=highway ecc..
2) do a service area analysis, importing facility locations and setting 5 kilometers as distance length
I got the message above.
Also, I tried to do a location-allocation analysis having as input: facilities locations, demand point (with population field in a column) and the network dataset above created, but of course it doesn't work this too.

You need polylines for the roads
Sorry those are indeed polylines not polygons.
The error I get repeating the analysis is:

Location "92310" in "Facilities" is unlocated.
(same for many facilities id).......
WARNING 030247: One or more break values could not be reached by one or more facilities.
WARNING 030025: Partial solution generated.
So in the output I do not have any service area at all computed.
