Convert to Graphics Legend

I have a legend in Pro that I have converted to graphics because everything needed to be labeled a certain way and in place. I need to open the legend and add an item. I was going to ungroup it and add the item but I am not finding a way to add the item. Is that possible in Pro. I know you can't do it in ArcMAP.

I suspect because of the statement that once converted to graphics it loses all association with the map.  so adding text etc won't enable it to return to its former self
