changes in ArcGIS Pro and feature layer not seen in web map or web app

I publish a feature layer to ArcGIS Pro, which tne I add to a web map, then add that to a web app using Web Appbuilder.

When I make a small change in the ArcGIS Pro map, such as a symbology color change, I can see the change in the overwritten feature layer, but not in the related web map or web app.

I tried setting the refresh interval, clearing my cache, and nothing works.

This seem like it should be very simple and straightforward, what am i missing?

From personal experience, (and someone else may know better) I believe that symbology changes in Pro do not affect hosted features.

To change symbology, it's easier to just do it in the webmap viewer.

I created the symbology in Pro originally, I would think (hope) I could edit it there as well.
