After installing ArcPro 3.4 on several of our systems at work, the computers freeze when using ArcPro. The only option is to hold the power button down until the computer shuts down and reboots. All are new systems running 64gb RAM. Has anyone experienced this problem? Fixes?
@Savoyh8bnpr - sorry to hear about the computer freezing up on you after upgrading to 3.4. A few things to try:
1. Click the Project tab, Options and for Display, change the rendering engine to DirectX 11 or OpenGL.
2. On the same options page, click the Clear cache now button.
3. Troubleshooting Performance Issues in ArcGIS Pro
4. FAQ: What is the Workflow When ArcMap or ArcGIS pro Crashes?
5. Delete the user.config file in your C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Esri\ArcGISPro_StrongName_XXX\1.3.00 folder
6. Clean uninstall and clean install of ArcGIS Pro 3.4.
7. How To: Perform an ArcGIS pro Soft Reset
Hope this helps!
We've just started evaluating 3.4.1 and haven't noticed any issues so far.
Just for troubleshooting purposes when this happens (when ArcGIS Pro is opened I guess?), does
Or is it fully locked up?
I'm wondering if Event Viewer might show something useful to Esri. I assume you're already following up with Esri support? Sample:
Given the issue you're seeing I wonder if there might also be Critical system errors as well? Might help to pin down which system is faulting.
The system is fully locked up. The next time it happens, I will give Esri a call and share event viewer. Thank you for the speedy response.
I would suggest a clean uninstall and reinstall of Pro https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/how-to-perform-a-clean-uninstall-and-reinstall-of-arcg...
Did a clean uninstall yesterday afternoon. Working this morning ArcPro crashed. I think I will be rolling back to 3.3
I rolled back to 3.3 and have not had any more issues. Thanks everyone for your responses.
