ArcGIS Pro Version Changes pane - zero changes?

ArcGIS Pro 2.9.5, traditionally versioned EGDB data in SQL Server
Usually if there are no changes to a feature class or table when comparing the current edit version to a target version, the feature class or table is not listed. However sometimes we see an entry with 0 changes and the text is light gray - is there an explanation for this?
