ArcGIS Pro 2.9 is very slow

ArcGIS Pro 2.9 takes FOREVER to run on my PC. Even just changing the symbology of a raster using a layer file is taking too long. Importing a layout file in A0 (guides only!! no map elements or map frames, even) takes 15+ minutes. I'm working on rasters that take less than 3 minutes to load on Global Mapper, but is taking 20+ on ArcGIS!!

I can't imagine that this is due to my PC specs because I have 256GB RAM but here's my PC details, anyway:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10980XE CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz
Installed RAM 256 GB (256 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows 11

I have no other programs open aside from Windows Explorer and Task Manager.

My map document as well as my files are on a dedicated drive (3TB, not external).

I have also cleared the local cache and lowered settings.

This is so frustrating!

the Detection tool keeps on failing, and so I can't push through with CYRI 😞

Was this happening before you upgraded to Windows 11

what do you have for  graphics

GPU is NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000, drivers are updated

Certainly would not expect your hardware to be at issue.  The only 2 things I would question is if Windows 11 is a compatibility issue and where is your data stored.

It could be a bandwidth issue.  

Are you pulling the data via wi-fi 

From a network.

When I am working from home I have to connect to my office via VPN to access network drives.  

However, it is significantly slower than being at my office. 

At home I was on wi-fi but ended up running ethernet from my modem direct to my computer.  Greatly increased performance.
