ArcGIS Pro 1.4 getting stuck when trying to create a new feature

I am trying to add features when I open up a project, and about 75% of the time it gets stuck with a never-ending pop-up saying "Creating new feature(s)". 

The item I am trying to edit has a relationship with a separate table, and if I edit that table before creating a new feature, I can add a new feature without problems.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Eric - what kind of data are you attempting to edit?  Shapefile?  File geodatabase?  Multiuser geodatabase?  Is the error seen in an existing *.aprx?  Or all new *.aprx?  Does a feature template exist for the feature to edit?  Is it editable (i.e. list by edits on the Contents Pane).  Any additional details you can provide would be helpful.
