It would be great if dynamic text could be enabled with word wrap. When it comes to service credits, these are usually quite lengthy. In order to fit the single line onto the map, the font becomes quite small. Word wrap would prevent this.
This is available. It sounds like you are adding dynamic text elements as straight text, which doesn't word wrap. If you add it is rectangle text the word wrapping is applied automatically. Just click the rectangle text button before selecting your dynamic text type to make sure ArcGIS Pro uses it not straight text. Thank you. I have found that the text box changes in size in an unhelpful way. It does not 'wrap around' the text, but sometimes 'decides' it needs to be larger than the text. This results in in unpredictable spacing with a map series. Is there a way to force the bounding box to envelop only the current text as is the case when you are not using a box?
This works fine unless you want to center a text block. When your text block is not a 'rectangle,' the boundary doesn't have the kind of awareness of the limit of the current text that straight text does. Straight text always has a boundary that represents the full extent of the current text, and no more. Rectangle text seems to have a static boundary.
@RandyMcGregor_BMcD@AubriOtis@NormBetland Hello, wondering if a solution was found. Even using "rectangle text" the lengthier attribute names aren't wrapping for my map series. I've got names of various lengths and instead of wrapping, the dynamic rectangle text just extends itself off the layout page to accommodate. Need to force bounding box size. Thanks, Dickie
@DickieRigdon that sounds like it could be a bug. If you can, I recommend reaching out to Esri technical support as they have the resources to troubleshoot and, if it is a bug, send it to the right development team.
