Add the ability to a Vertical Center a Rectangle text element in a layout.
Currently the Vertical alignment is disabled (BUG-000121263), it seems the eyeballing the Offset Y is currently the only option to try and Vertically Center text.
My goal is recreating the following layout. Having the Vertical alignment would allow a second line to added in seconds, instead of trying to readjust the Offset Y. Border and background added to Rectangle text element
Thank you for posting. I am astounded that the market leader in desktop GIS does not provide a simple way to align text in a box. It results in a lot of eyeballing in layouts which can look very unprofessional and I often end up using another application to do things properly.

Would also love to see ESRI address this. We have plenty of use-cases where we need dynamic text in map series to be aligned to the bottom of a text frame. The fact that we can't do this in Pro in version 3.1 is sort of baffling.
Mirroring @AlyssavD's comment, I'm happy to see that addressing this "bug" is now Under Consideration after 6 years. This would be incredibly helpful to address and I hope it moves forward.
I vote kudos/yes/please for this enhancement. I would really like to see a vertical alignment setting allowed in rectangle text.
Would be really nice to have basic functionality like this fixed.
Yet another comment calling for this to be added. The whole layout workflow is substandard compared to every other design software on the market, and this issue is just one among many.
But at least do this simple thing. The buttons and workflow are all there, you just have to fix whatever logic is preventing us from using it.
Agreed with everyone above, posting here to request 2004 functionality for an issue that exists in 2025. 🙂 🤣
