Truncate Versioned data

Currently the Truncate GP tool only works on non versioned data. Alter this GP tool so that it works on versioned data. For a feature class with several hundred thousand or millions of records, it takes forever to run the delete feature tool and delete the features in a versioned geodatabase.

Wouldn't this be accomplished by doing a compress then truncate? Or are you looking just to truncate a specific version where you would be undoing the pending changes?
