Spatial Definition Query — Improve preview of intersecting polygon layer with a fill colour

Spatial Definition Query:
The polygon in the preview section of this window has donut holes; the two small rectangles are negative space within the larger rectangle. But you wouldn’t know that from the preview. I’m wondering if a fill could be used to indicate the shape of the polygon; the donut holes would be left as white.
