In the attribute table of a layer it is possible to use a soft enter (Shift + Enter) to achieve a line break. This is very handy for long text in a text field because it causes a line break in the labels or in the page text when using Data Driven Pages. However, this is not possible when editing using the attributes window (Editor toolbar). It would be nice if the Shift + Enter would also work in the attribute window.

It's a shame there hasn't been any movement on this. You submitted it 12 years ago. It would be very helpful.
