There was a useful toggle in ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) that allowed you to turn off the scale dependency of the selection symbol when the map reference scale was set. I'm missing this toggle for my data editing workflow.
I have a hard time editing line layers in particular - when the reference scale is set, the line selection symbol is also "wide". I have trouble identifying intersections, breakpoints, etc. when I select multiple features. I know you can turn off the reference scale for the whole project/layer, but then the layer symbology is not to scale. Thus, I need to somehow set the layer symbology to scale and highlight the selection without scale.
