I just upgraded to 3.4.2 from 3.3.2 and noticed that I no longer have the ability to dock the Quick Access Toolbar below the ribbon. I found it very helpful to have the QAT below the ribbon, since it minimized mouse travel and allowed for the display of about twice as many commands in the QAT as it does when it's above the ribbon. Now that the QAT is above the ribbon permanently and sharing real estate with the project name and command search bar, half of my command icons are in an overflow menu so it takes two clicks to access them, which seems to defeat the purpose of a 'quick access' toolbar.
Please bring this functionality back! Having the QAT directly above the Map View instead of above the ribbon was extremely useful.
I'm still using 3.3.4 for production work and while I got to explore 3.4 for a bit of testing, I don't currently have access to it. I do have access to 3.5.0 Beta 1 and I have the quick access toolbar below the ribbon, but would agree that the quick access toolbar should always have the option to go under the ribbon.
There it is! Thanks. The QAT dropdown button was hidden at the end of the overflow window so it was no longer visible onscreen. I thought a right click would bring up that below the ribbon option but that wasn’t the case.
I was fixing to be upset until I saw your last post. Whew!
