While exploring data classification methods (natural breaks, quantile, equal/defined interval, geometrical interval, manual) in the graduated color symbology, I noticed for certain distributions, that the class break values for the quantile histogram can overlap, making them unreadable.

I visited with Esri Tech Support, and they confirmed there isn't a way to zoom into the histogram with ArcGIS Pro 2.5 as we can with ArcGIS Desktop. It would be helpful to have a zoom capability to visualize the breaks at end of the distribution to better understand distributions for certain data sets. The screenshot compares the quantile histogram with natural breaks for the same dataset to explain the issue. Thank you for considering this as a potential enhancement.

This is also related to Add customability to the Symbology Histogram hich is specific to setting the number of bins.

Thank you for this idea. We are happy to report that it has been implemented in ArcGIS Pro 3.5 as follows:

The symbology histogram for class-based symbology includes the following enhancements:

  • You can change the zoom level.
  • You can change the bin count to show more or less detail in feature counts.
  • You can hover over a bin to see the feature count.
  • Labels are more legible, and keyboard accessibility was improved.

See Use Symbology Histograms for more information.
