When printing a map with at least one polygon feature class (several polygons) symbolised with dashed line contour, we’d like to be able to synchronise automaticaly the dashed to avoid loosing the contour symbology on adjacent polygons.

It would be very much appreciated.

This is a function of Cartographic Representations. Look into the help and training covering Representations you should have this problem solved. Representations can be a hassle but they provide the finishing touches that make a map look really great.

Thanks your post but the actual functions of Cartographic Representations is useful for a few polygons indeed, but if you actually deal with 10, 20 or lot more, it becomes a hassle on a long term. That's why it would be nice to do this batch.

Hi, this function is unfortunately not available for all licenses arcview!

When coverages were popular, you could use the line feature to create this dashed symbology, but since those are no longer supported the ability to do this is also.  Functionality should never be lost on "upgraded" platforms.

Pro does this automatically now. Its not perfect but its pretty good. Even if you aren't moving all of your workflows over to Pro your cartography will come out a good bit cleaner in the new rendering engine they wrote.

Is there progression on this? Like Chris wrote, Pro is pretty good but better would be nice.
