I often work with large map layouts with many frames and much data. To help navigation, QC and cartography I would like to have a magnifier window, an overview window and a viewer window for the layout view as well as for the data view.

This is a great idea; particularly given that Maplex will move labels around when you zoom in and out in the layout view.  You could lock the labels, but then you wouldn't be able to see the results of your label adjustments.  Thank you!

I was going to post the same idea, but then looked to see if anyone else had that issue.  Zooming in and out to see detail on maps with a lot of data takes up a lot of time that a magnifier could save.  I'd probably use it more in layout than in the data view.

Allow the Overview, Magnifier, and Viewer under the Windows menu to be used in Layout View.  This would allow you to zoom into areas in layout view to check labeling, symbolozation, graphic elements, etc. without having to change the extent and wait for layout redraw, which can take a long time for complex maps.

It would be extremely helpful to have a tool, like a magnifier, to view the map while in layout view, especially for maps to be printed in large format. It is frustrating and time consuming to have to watch the layers refresh every time I want to zoom in to check out a particular area of the map that I cannot see in the whole page mode. I don't want ArcMap to redraw the layers every time I pan around the map!
