Occasionally, I accidentally close the map tab from my project. If I understand correctly, there isn't a way to re-open the map from the ribbon. I would need to go to the Maps folder in Catalog and right-click the map to re-open it.
I don't deal with maps very often other than using the default map in a new project for data testing purposes (I don't use multiple maps). So, when I do need to open a map (about once per year), I forget how to do it; it doesn't occur to me to look in Catalog. In my mind, Catalog is where the data lives; not maps (although people who use multiple maps regularly are likely used to it).
Could a button be added to the ribbon in the Map or View tabs that would let us open closed maps?
Additionally, it would also help to be able to drag a map from Catalog into the views or Contents area.
