When creating a legend with multiple lines of text after the patch, the default placement for the patch should not be alligned to 'bottom' (or last line of text) but be aligned to either the 'top' or 'center' of the text. Even if you do go in and change the settings for each layer in your legend, the legend will oftentimes revert all layers back to being aligned with the bottom, or last line of text. This is a ridiculous default, the human eye doesnt look from the bottom up, its looks from the top down when reading.
